Giles Brugge, 4th Lord Chaundos was born on 21 December 1396 at Hasfield, Gloucestershire, England.
He was the son of Thomas Brugge and Alice Berkeley He married Katherine Clifford, daughter of James Clifford. He died on 13 April 1467 at age 70.
He held the office of Sheriff of Gloucestershire from 1429 to 1430.1 He was Knight of the Shire for Herefordshire in 1430/31.
He held the office of Sheriff of Gloucestershire from 1453 to 1454.1 He was Knight of the Shire for Herefordshire in 1455. He succeeded as the 4th Lord Chaundos in February 1457/58
Assumed the de jure right to the Chandos peerage which had gone into abeyance on the death of his great uncle John 3rd Lord Chandos in 1428.
