Of Bodfel. High Sheriff Caernarvs 1561; Standard Bearer to John Earl of Warwick (Later at the Battle of Mousehold Hill in 1549 when Kets rebellion was put down where (as Sir John Wynn tell us) ' his hors was slaine under him and himself hurt and yett he upheld the great stander of England'.
For this he was richly rewarded with both offices and lands, including some of the former lands of the abbey of Bardsey on the island itself and on the mainland.
