Died from wounds received in action in France. He was educated at Haileybury and the Royal Military College at Woolwich, serving nine years in India, joining the Royal Field Artillery in France 1914. He married Winifred Emmeline Cohen, daughter of a barrister and judge. They had one son Anthony Bernard.
