Bertie Trevor-Roper,formerly in general practice at Alnwick, Northumberland, and honorary surgeon at Alnwick Infirmary, died on 3 January. He was 92.
Bertie William Edward Trevor-Roper was born on 25 June 1885, the youngest of 14 children. One of his earliest memories was of
his father's being laid on the kitchen table, which had been placed beside the bath, for his tuberculous leg to be sawn of. His father did not survive this, and
his mother was quickly remarried to a Trevor-Roper cousin. He graduated in medicine at Manchester in 1908.
