Notes for Sir William WRAY 1st Bt
Sir William Wray, 1st Baronet, of Glentworth, Lincolnshire (c 1555 – 13 August 1617) was an English politician. He represented the constituency of Grimsby from 1584 to 1585, Lincolnshire in 1601 and Grimsby again from 1604 to November 1611. He was appointed High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1592 and 1594 and was created a baronet on 25 November 1611.

Family

He was the son of Christopher Wray, by his wife Anne, daughter of Nicholas Girlington of Normanby, Yorkshire.

He married, first, in 1580, Lucy, eldest daughter of Sir Edward Montagu of Boughton, son of Sir Edward Montagu, by whom he had eight sons and a daughter:
